Wall ties are an important structural component ensuring the stability of the outer leaf of a cavity wall. The condition and number of ties is important, and where corrosion is present, or where ties are broken or missing, (often characterised by horizontal cracking or bowing of the external brickwork), then a wall tie replacement will be required.
Solid masonry may also delaminate through broken headers or deteriorated mortar and require remedial tying to ensure future stability.
We have a full range of remedial tie systems available, including the unique DryFix tie from Helifix, which requires a minimal diameter hole for installation, and is installed without resin or grout.
Using our own tie location equipment, we are able to undertake surveys and make recommendations for the replacement of wall ties and/or providing retro fit connections between floor and walls, or internal/external wall connections.
