Strengthening Foundations

There are two main techniques for strengthening foundations — piled underpinning and mass concrete underpinning — and Charterbuild offers both:
- Piled underpinning is generally preferred when possible since it’s quicker and less invasive. Piles are either driven or augured down to a secure level, and the structure’s weight is distributed down to subsoil that can support it.
- Mass concrete underpinning is used in situations where piling isn’t an option. This involves excavating below the foundations section by section and pouring in an extra layer of concrete.
Repairing Walls
Your property’s walls may also suffer cracks from subsidence, or else they could have been damaged in an accident or simply by the effects of time. Whatever the reason, the masonry has to be repaired and securely stitched back together.
